Rain chances remain elevated through the upcoming work week as an unsettled pattern sits over Florida.

Sunday

Sunday rain chances will mirror Saturday as the atmospheric setup remains largely the same. We will wake up to mostly dry conditions with a mix of sun and clouds. We will remain mostly dry through noon. Our sea breeze will begin to pop up some showers and thunderstorms around the I-4 corridor by mid-afternoon. These storms, like Saturday, will slowly push to the north and west. The best rain chances will be around the Orlando metro and points northwest towards Ocala. High temperatures will hit the low 90s.

Next Week

A trough of low pressure in the upper levels of the atmosphere will help to drag down a cold front into northern Florida by early next week. There is a lot of deep moisture ahead of this front that will be pushed into Central Florida’s skies, giving us plenty of juice for a plethora of showers and storms. This front will inch its way southward, lingering over the Central Florida area through Thursday. This will give us high rain chances for the entirety of the work week ahead. Models are hinting at around 3-5″ of rainfall by the end of next week area wide. The risk for minor flooding in low lying areas is not out of the question by mid-week.
