We reviewed the full menu of Six Ravens, the new savory food concept by Gideon's Bakehouse at Disney Springs, including "coffyns," the smashed potato side, a sweet treat, and a specialty beverage.

Drinks come in a red cup featuring the Six Ravens logo with a raven wearing a golden crown and the Roman numeral for six, VI. Each “Marry Meal” box containing the food has a handle for carrying and comes with a knife, spoon, and collectible sticker.

On one side is “Six Ravens” against a black background. On the reverse is the king from the restaurant’s background story with “If it is good, ’tis better in a coffyn.” That side opens up to create a kind of plate for eating on, featuring skeletal figures guarding a door and the six ravens with a cloaked figure.

The story is on the back of the coffyn packaging:

Many moons ago, in a realm far behind the veil of yesteryears, a king, desperate to preserve his warning empire, summoned a band of noble souls to pursue a fabled legend. Whispers scattered through the lands of an oracle, known as The Six Ravens, whose prophetic wisdom could alter destiny itself. Through six harrowing trials, these brave souls stood by one another, unraveling the ancient secret to safeguard the kingdom for ages unnumbered.

The signature savory dishes at Six Ravens are coffyns: yeast rolls stuffed with all the sustenance required for a valiant quest. “Coffyn” was the original term for hand pie in medieval Europe and remained popular through the English Tudor period (early 1600s).

Each coffyn and the Tale Teller Tatties side comes with a dipping sauce. Guests can add dips for $1.96. There is a limit of two coffyns per purchase.

The Peasant’s Patty – $10.96

A Classic Cheeseburger topped with American Cheese, Dill Pickle Bits, encased in a Sesame Seed sprinkled Coffyn. Pairing: Pink Salamander Dipping Sauce

The pastry is dry. It’s a good mix of ingredients and the bread is soft but it’s pedestrian. The sesame seeds are nice.

The sauce has a nice kick of flavor and helps the coffyn a lot. Otherwise we would rate it a two or three.

Generally speaking, the coffyns are all a good portion size.

The Villain of Valentina – $10.96

House Basil Pesto Chicken, Balsamic Tomatoes, and all the Kingdom’s Garlic, trapped in a Herb Panko splashed Coffyn. Pairing: Bruno’s Garlic Knot Juice

This is great. The sauce is outrageous, in a good way. It’s very garlicky — it burns a bit on the backend. The chicken is tender, juicy, and flavorful. The coffyn is better than The Peasant’s Patty because it has more flavor.

The Wizard’s Wonder – $10.96

Mac & Cheese balanced with diced Pickled Poblano Peppers, BBQ Pulled Pork, shrouded in a BBQ Crumb covered Coffyn. Pairing: Prince Donut’s Smoke & Cherry BBQ Sauce

Mac & Cheese balanced with diced Pickled Poblano Peppers, BBQ Pulled Pork, shrouded in a BBQ Crumb covered Coffyn. Pairing: Prince Donut's Smoke & Cherry BBQ Sauce

While the sauce improves the first two pies, it brings this one down. It’s tangy and overpowering.

The actual pastry tastes like a fresher hot pocket. It has a good smoky poblano flavor.

The Imperial Idol – $10.96

Mildly Spicy Chicken with Potato & Carrot Coconut Curry, in a Fried Garlic covered Coffyn harmonizing to create this flavorful offering. Pairing: Red Panda’s Dipping Sauce

Mildly Spicy Chicken with Potato & Carrot Coconut Curry, in a Fried Garlic covered Coffyn harmonizing to create this flavorful offering. Pairing: Red Panda's Dipping Sauce

This is our favorite. It has a heat and we would call it more than “mildly” spicy. If you have any aversion to spice, stay away.

The curry is flavorful and well spiced. The sauce complements and balances the coffyn, adding a creaminess and zestiness. The garlic of the coffyn still comes through.

The Moreish Monk – $10.96

Middle Ages Grilled Cheese using Vermont White Cheddar, Havarti cheese, and House Tomato Jam wrapped in a Parmesan smothered Coffyn. Pairing: Wolf Peach Sauce

Middle Ages Grilled Cheese using Vermont White Cheddar, Havarti cheese, and House Tomato Jam wrapped in a Parmesan smothered Coffyn. Pairing: Wolf Peach Sauce

The sauce nails the tomato sauce flavor. It doesn’t make up for the bad coffyn though.

The cheese in here is one solid piece. Ours did sit for 15 minutes or so but there’s no way the cheese should have congealed in that time. It was a cold glob and tasted straight out of the microwave.

The Foragers Find – $10.96

Our Spiced Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Crushed Pepitas, and Queso Cotija in a Pumpkin Seed topped Coffyn. Pairing: Tropic of Mango Aioli Dip

Our Spiced Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Black Bean Corn Salsa, Crushed Pepitas, and Queso Cotija in a Pumpkin Seed topped Coffyn. Pairing: Tropic of Mango Aioli Dip

This just tastes like corn salsa from Pollo Tropical thrown inside breading. The tangy sauce is good but the coffyn isn’t.

This is another pedestrian offering, especially when compared to the spectacular cookies of Gideon’s Bakehouse.

Tale Teller Tatties – $8.66

A mini bucket of Baked Smashed Potatoes perfectly seasoned with the King’s spices and served with our Realm Famous Honey Mustard.

A mini bucket of Baked Smashed Potatoes perfectly seasoned with the King’s spices and served with our Realm Famous Honey Mustard.

Yum! These are excellent, although still not the elusive 7/7. They’re seasoned well, soft inside with a bit of chewiness from the skin.

The honey mustard is the perfect accompaniment. The serving size is pretty small for $8.66, however.

The Tart’s Tempest – $7.66

A Gideon’s Chocolate Chip Tart filled with Rich Chocolate Fudge and topped with a freshly made Raspberry Jam.

A Gideon’s Chocolate Chip Tart filled with Rich Chocolate Fudge and topped with a freshly made Raspberry Jam.

This isn’t the Gideon’s cookie you expect. The large chunks of salt are missing. It’s overdone. There’s too much raspberry and it’s not rich enough.

A Gideon’s Chocolate Chip Tart filled with Rich Chocolate Fudge and topped with a freshly made Raspberry Jam.

The cookie was not hot and fresh. It costs more than a Gideon’s cookie and is super disappointing.

The Friars Fault – $6.96

A Six Ravens house tap Root Beer. Sassafras forward with a vanilla bean finish.

This is indeed sassafras forward. It’s nothing wild but it’s a good root beer.

Rating out of 7: 5

They also offer regular soft drinks and local beers.
