Areas of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa have been undergoing refurbishments on and off for the past couple of years. During our latest visit to Disneyland Resort, we noticed work was happening on the outside of the hotel.

Grand Californian Exterior Refurbishment

We spotted the exterior work occurring on the private Disney California Adventure entrance for hotel guests. The entrance lets out into the Grizzly Peak area of Disney California Adventure.

New aqua-colored scaffolding has been installed in front of the rooms overlooking the entrance. We spotted a couple of crew members repainting the green trim work underneath the balcony railings.

The scaffolding stretches above the arched entrance, and a platform of plywood has been temporarily erected.

More aqua-colored scaffolding has been installed on other sides of the hotel buildings. Dark green scrim can be spotted behind the scaffolding, and there are also green construction walls blocking parts of the building from view.

Though Disney has not officially announced a reason for the repainting, it’s likely routine maintenance for the hotel.
