Ahead of the 100th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade this year, Macy’s and Disney are unveiling a major new addition to this year’s celebration. Disney’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey will make his debut as a brand-new giant character balloon.

Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey Balloon

The balloon will soar above New York City during the Parade’s historic centennial march this Thanksgiving, November 26, 2026.

The reveal of the balloon will take place at Downtown Disney District today, August 13, for fans attending D23 Day at Disneyland Resort.

Inspired by Mickey Mouse’s iconic role in Disney’s Fantasia, the new balloon marks the latest chapter in Disney’s years-long history with the Parade, which began in 1934 when Mickey became the first Disney character balloon to take flight.

To celebrate the milestone, Macy’s is also launching an exclusive Disney capsule collection featuring fashion, accessories, and collectible keepsakes inspired by the Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey balloon and 100 years of Parade magic.

Available beginning August 13, the collection includes items from brands such as Citizen, Crocs, Hallmark, Loungefly, Super Smalls, Swarovski, and more.

This initial launch offers fans an early opportunity to join the celebration ahead of the broader Parade assortment launching later this fall.

The full collection will feature more than 100 items inspired by the wonder of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and beloved Disney, Pixar, and Marvel characters that have appeared in the iconic holiday tradition over the years.
