Officers have responded after a stabbing was reported in Daytona Beach on Tuesday, according to the police department.
In a release, police said they were investigating in the 600 block of South Keech Street.
Shortly before 4 p.m., officers were flagged down regarding the stabbing, prompting them to head to the 900 block of Cedar Street, police explained.
“Our preliminary investigation found that the victim and the female suspect were involved in a disturbance that resulted in the victim being stabbed,” the release reads. “The suspect left the area in a vehicle before officers arrived.”
Afterward, police found the vehicle and ultimately took 21-year-old Rosemary Mercardo Torres into custody, the department revealed.
“The investigation determined that the victim and Torres are in a domestic relationship,” the release continues. “The victim was taken to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.”
