We have a few more stormy days to get through before Central Florida finally gets a taste of fall by the weekend.

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY

The lingering upper-level low that has been hanging around Florida will finally weaken and move away Tuesday.

That won’t do much to change the rain pattern just yet. Plenty of moisture remains in place, with rain chances around 40% to 60% Tuesday and Wednesday.

The sea breeze will develop each afternoon and push inland, helping trigger scattered to numerous showers and storms through the afternoon and early evening.

Temperatures remain warm and humid, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s and heat indices reaching 100 to 105 degrees before storms develop.

THURSDAY & FRIDAY

The weather pattern starts to shift Thursday as a cool front moves through Central Florida.

Northeast winds will become breezy to windy, with sustained speeds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts of 25 to 35 mph possible. The strongest winds are expected along the Volusia and Brevard coasts.

Those stronger winds will also create hazardous surf and boating conditions late this week.

Thursday will still be fairly stormy, with rain chances around 50% to 70%, but drier air will begin moving in behind the front.

By Friday, rain chances drop to 30% to 40%, mainly along the coast and southeast of I-4.

WEEKEND

This is the part many Floridians have been waiting for.

A slight taste of fall is expected this weekend and into early next week.

Drier air will continue filtering into Central Florida, lowering humidity and rain chances. Highs will still reach the 80s, but dew points dropping into the 60s will make it feel much more comfortable.

Even better, overnight lows in the mid to upper 60s are expected to become more widespread, especially across inland areas.

Winds will remain breezy Saturday, particularly near the coast, before easing Sunday into early next week.
