A new report by MovingPlace has revealed the “hottest” ZIP codes in America, including a handful located right here in the Sunshine State.
According to the latest report, researchers examined which areas saw the most activitiy in August, with “hotness” gauged in three ways:
- Move volume per capita: The number of moves with a destination in the ZIP code per 1,000 people
- Total move volume: The absolute number of moves with a destination in the ZIP code
- Biggest month-over-month increases: ZIP codes with the largest jumps in moving activity compared to the previous month
MOVES PER CAPITA
Nationally, the No. 1 spot ended up being Aurora, Colorado (80019), with Fort Leavenworth, Kansas (66027), coming in close behind.
But the Sunshine State wasn’t left out, with three selections in the top 10: 34987 in Port St. Lucie (No. 3); 32461 in Inlet Beach (No. 4); and 34211 in Bradenton (No. 6).
Port St. Lucie got its No. 3 spot thanks to its designation as a hotspot for retirees and remote workers moving from the Northeast.
“The community’s continued presence near the top of the per-capita rankings reflects durable demand for its master-planned developments,” the report reads.
TOTAL MOVE VOLUME
For this segment of the ranking, researchers laid out the top 10 as follows:
- No. 1: Leander, TX — 78641
- No. 2: McKinney, TX — 75071
- No. 3: Washington, DC — 20002
- No. 4: Winter Garden, FL — 34787
- No. 5: New Braunfels, TX — 78130
- No. 6: Chicago, IL — 60657
- No. 7: Pflugerville, TX — 78660
- No. 8: Parker, CO — 80134
- No. 9: Cypress, TX — 77433
- No. 10: Katy, TX — 77494
Per the study, the 34787 ZIP code in Winter Garden received close to 500 movers in August, with the area being considered a fast-growing suburb.
Furthermore, this spot is known for its new-build subdivisions and a revitalized historic downtown, making it an attractive prospect for many, researchers said.
“It has been a consistent top-5 performer in total move volume for several months running,” the report continues.
