More than three years after a Mount Dora couple was found dead inside their senior living apartment, the woman charged with their murders is heading to trial.

Jury selection is expected to begin Tuesday for Vickie Williams, charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Darryl and Sharon Getman.

Mount Dora police found the couple’s bodies inside their senior living facility apartment in December 2022.

Investigators said Williams visited the Getmans’ apartment the night before their bodies were discovered, asking to use their shower and charge her cellphone. The next morning, the couple was found dead in their entryway and their car was missing.

Detectives traced Sharon Getman’s cellphone — left inside the missing vehicle — using cellphone pings and license plate readers. That trail led to Savannah, Georgia, where Williams was arrested in January 2023.

If convicted, she could face the death penalty.
