Universal Studios Japan will hold its winter seasonal event “Holiday Wonders ~Discover U!!!~” this year, featuring “Light Up the Night ~Christmas Celebration~,” “Joy of Lights,” and the Universal Food Festival from November 13, 2026, to January 17, 2027.
Universal Studios Japan Holiday Event
The park will be offering “winter gifts” unique to its 25th anniversary, such as the “Holiday Kids Free Pass,” which invites children from all over the country to stay for free, and the “Holiday Kids Free Plan,” a lodging plan where children’s accommodation is also free.
Here are all the activities that this winter event will feature:
‘Light Up the Night’
In “Light Up the Night ~Christmas Celebration~,” Elmo, Snoopy, Hello Kitty, and other characters dressed in winter costumes, along with snow people and entertainers, deliver the “best present” in this night show. A heartwarming story unfolds with vocals and holiday songs.
This event will start on November 25, 2026, and end on January 11, 2027. It’s located at Gramercy Park in the New York area of the park and will last for about 30 minutes.
‘The Joy of Lights’
Meanwhile, “The Joy of Lights,” a moving show that conveys feelings to loved ones, is back after 9 years. It features lights and melodies. Furthermore, snow will fall during the show’s climax, transforming the entire Gramercy Park into a holiday space.
This show will start on November 25, 2026, through January 11, 2027, and will also be held in the New York area and will last about 10 minutes.
Universal Food Festival and Special Greetings
Guests will also be able to enjoy the Universal Food Festival, which is set to be scaled up to its largest size ever, both in terms of the number of menu items and the area it covers. A wide variety of holiday foods will be available throughout the park, including special menus at restaurants, food inspired by the park’s characters, and easy-to-eat street food that can be enjoyed from carts.
The event will begin on November 13, 2026, to January 17, 2027.
Furthermore, Snoopy, Elmo, and friends will make surprise appearances in the designated areas where guests can enjoy holiday food, creating a special greeting event.
Winter-only greetings will also be held, such as “Minion Jingle Bellow Meet & Greet,” where the Minions will appear in winter attire, and “Universal Wonderland ~Let’s Smile Together!~” Furthermore, the singing show “Power of Rock ~Holiday Rockin’!~” will deliver winter songs with live performances.
Holidays at Hogwarts
Hogsmeade Village will have vibrant winter decorations, and Hogwarts Castle will be brought to life with a mapping show, “Hogwarts Magical Nights ~Winter Magic~.” Guests can immerse themselves in the winter scenery of the wizarding world and relive their favorite movie scenes.
This event will start on November 13 and end on January 17.
In celebration of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’s 25th anniversary, a special walking tour of Hogwarts Castle, called “Hogwarts Castle Walk,” is also being held now until January 17th, 2027.
