Central Florida has another very wet day ahead before rain chances gradually ease this weekend. A much drier and less humid pattern arrives next week.
Thursday
Showers and embedded storms will continue throughout the day as a stalled front and near-record moisture fuel widespread rain.
Rain chances will be around 90%, with quick rainfall totals of 2–4 inches possible, especially across southern portions of the area this afternoon and evening. With recent heavy rain, minor flooding will remain a concern.
Along the Volusia County coast, high rip current risk and rough surf will make for dangerous beach conditions.
Isaias is expected to stay to our west, with the hurricane forecast to make landfall near the Florida Panhandle late Friday. Click here for more on Hurricane Isaias and the latest forecast.
Weekend
Rain chances remain elevated at 60–80% Friday through Sunday, but there will be more breaks between showers and storms, especially by Sunday.
As Isaias moves into the northern Gulf Coast, increasing southerly winds will keep tropical moisture flowing into Florida. Winds could become breezy Saturday, with gusts of 20–25 mph.
Temperatures also climb into the upper 80s to low 90s this weekend.
Next Week
A weak front will move through Monday, followed by much drier air.
Rain chances drop to 20% or less Tuesday and Wednesday, while humidity decreases significantly.
Morning lows could fall into the 60s, with highs remaining in the upper 80s to around 90.
